The Real-Time Dashboard provides a live snapshot of user activity on your website. It shows where visitors are coming from, what devices they’re using, their locations, and how they’re engaging with your content. You can monitor key metrics such as scroll depth, time spent, and page views for each live page, as well as overall trends across your website.
The Vitals section highlights key performance indicators to help you understand user activity at a glance:
Live Users: The number of users actively engaging with your website within the last 90 seconds.
Live Pageviews: The total number of page views from active users in the past 90 seconds.
Average Scroll Depth: The average percentage of a page that live users have scrolled through.
Average Time Spent: The average time live users have actively spent on a page.
Recirculation Rate: The percentage of users who clicked on another page after reading an article.
Live Articles: The number of articles currently being viewed by at least one live user.
You can switch between Realtime (showing activity from the last 90 seconds) and Today (showing cumulative data for the day) to compare live performance with daily trends.
The real-time graph visually represents user activity throughout the day. Each color represents a different traffic source—Search, Direct, Internal, Social, Referral, and Discover—allowing you to identify trends, spikes, and dips in traffic instantly.
Below the graph, you’ll find a list of all articles that have at least one live page view. This list is sorted by the number of active users on each page, showing which articles are performing the best. Alongside each article, you can see key engagement metrics such as time spent, scroll depth, and recirculation rate. This helps you quickly spot opportunities for optimization or issues that need attention.
You can switch to the Categories table by selecting the tab above the Articles table. Here, you can see the distribution of traffic across various categories on your website. This list is sorted by the total number of active users on each category. You can also see the key engagement metrics for each category.
The Real-Time Dashboard includes three filter options to help you refine your analysis:
Page Filters: View data based on category, page type (e.g., static, dynamic, slideshow, video), or author.
Traffic Filters: See where your users are coming from, whether it's search engines, social media, referrals, or direct visits.
User Insights: Analyze visitor demographics, including location, device type, and whether they are new or returning users.
By using these filters, you can gain a clearer understanding of user behavior and optimize your content strategy accordingly.
The Today tab works similarly to the Real-Time Dashboard, but instead of showing data for just the last few minutes, it displays cumulative metrics for the current day — from midnight until the present moment. The data still updates in real time, allowing you to track the day’s performance as it unfolds.
This tab is especially useful for:
Monitoring how a specific day is progressing without being limited to the short real-time window.
Reviewing high-performing pages, authors, or categories for editorial and distribution decisions throughout the day.
It includes all the same metrics (like pageviews, users, scroll depth, and time spent), but with a daily aggregate perspective — giving you a more complete view of how your content is performing over the course of the day.
