# Live Pulse

The **Live Pulse** is a simple, visual indicator designed to give you a real-time sense of how your website is performing — without having to analyze charts or compare numbers manually.

You'll find the Pulse bar right next to your **Live Users** count on the Real-Time Dashboard. This feature helps you **instantly understand whether your current traffic is trending above, below, or in line with your usual performance**.

### What Is the Live Pulse?

The Live Pulse reacts to your current traffic and compares it with historical trends — helping you understand the “health” of your live audience at a glance.

The pulse bar changes color based on your performance:

* 🟥 **Red** — **Below Usual**: Your current traffic is lower than expected. It's a good time to take action — share content, improve existing articles, or engage users through notifications.
* 🟦 **Blue** — **Consistent**: Your traffic is within your typical range for this day and time. Everything is steady — but there’s still room to push higher.
* 🟩 **Green** — **Better Than Usual**: You’re seeing higher engagement than normal. Whatever you're doing is working — keep it up!
* 🟩 **Dark Green** — **30-Day Peak**: You’re at your highest live traffic point in the last 30 days. This is a great moment to capitalize on growing momentum.

The color-coded pulse makes it effortless to track performance — especially during busy publishing hours.

### The Comparison Tooltip

Hover over the **Live Users** number, and you'll see a breakdown of how today’s traffic stacks up:

* **Your usual traffic for this time and day**\
  \&#xNAN;*"Usually, there are around 450 users on Mondays at 03:52 PM."*\
  This is calculated based on the **same day and time over the past 4 weeks**.
* **Your best performance in the last 30 days**\
  \&#xNAN;*"Last 30D peak: 897."*\
  This gives you a benchmark to aim for or beat.
* **Your performance compared to Yesterday**\
  See how your current live user count compares to the same time yesterday.
* **Your performance compared to 7 Days Ago**\
  Track your week-over-week performance on the same day.

This tooltip gives you **context without requiring you to look up historical reports** — perfect for making quick, informed decisions.

### How the Pulse Helps You

Here’s how the Pulse helps you make smarter, faster decisions without digging through data:

* Understand whether you're performing **above or below your normal trend**.
* Avoid having to remember traffic patterns or expected benchmarks manually.
* **Set goals** to beat your best days and track your improvements over time.
* Respond quickly when traffic drops — so you’re always in control.

### What to do if you’re in the Red

If the Pulse is showing red (below normal), here are a few immediate steps you can take:

* **Check Traffic Sources**\
  Is there a drop in a specific source like Search, Social, or Direct?
* **Analyze User Engagement**\
  Look at scroll depth and time spent. Are users bouncing early?
* **Improve Content Quality**\
  Update outdated info, sharpen headlines, and improve readability.
* **Enhance Internal Linking**\
  Add links within the article to increase recirculation across related content.
* **Publish More**\
  Create relevant articles based on trending keywords to attract more traffic.
* **Update Visuals**\
  Refresh your article’s cover image to make it more appealing.
* **Send Notifications**\
  Use push notifications or email alerts to re-engage your audience.

The **Live Pulse** is your fast lane to understanding what’s happening right now and whether it’s time to optimize, promote, or celebrate.
