Real Time Dashboard

The Real-Time Dashboard provides an up-to-the-minute view of live traffic on your website. This page allows you to monitor where your visitors are coming from, their devices, and their locations, as well as their engagement on your pages. You can track average scroll depth, engagement time, and pageviews for each live page, along with overall averages across all pages.

Features of the Real-Time Dashboard

Vitals

The Vitals section provides key performance metrics for your website:

  • Live Users: Number of unique users who are active on your site in the last 90 seconds.

  • Live Pageviews: Total number of page views on your site in the last 90 seconds.

  • Average Scroll Depth: The average percentage of the page users have scrolled through in real-time in the last 90 seconds.

  • Average Engaged Time: The average time users have spent actively engaging with your site in the last 90 seconds.

  • Recirculation:

  • Live Articles: The total number of pages that currently have active users.

You can toggle between Realtime and Today to check the data for real-time (last 90 seconds) and today'. This comparison will help you identify trends and anomalies in real-time performance.

Graph

The real-time graph shows the number of live users at specific times, updated in 5-minute intervals.

  • Hovering over any point on the graph will display the exact number of live users at that moment, broken down by their traffic sources (e.g., Search, Direct, Social, etc.).

Live Pages

The Live Pages table lists all live pages with users currently active on them. For each page, you can see:

  • Live Users: The number of active users on the page in the last 90 seconds.

  • Average Scroll Depth: How far users have scrolled down on the page, averaged over the last 90 seconds.

  • Average Engaged Time: The average time users have engaged with the page in the last 90 seconds.

  • Recirculation:

Filters

The filters section allows you to segment your data by the following criteria:

  • Traffic Sources:

    • Search: Users who arrived on your site through search platforms like Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo.

    • Discover: Users who found your content through Google Discover, Google's personalized content recommendation platform.

    • Social: Users referred from social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Instagram.

    • Internal: Users who have navigated from one page to another within your website.

    • Referral: Users who landed on your website via an external link, such as from another website or blog.

    • Direct: Users who accessed your website through bookmarks, directly typing your URL, or other untraceable methods.

  • Referrer: The specific sites or platforms directing traffic to your site.

  • Location: The geographical regions where your users are located.

  • Devices: Desktop, Mobile, or Tablet.

  • Visitor Type: Whether users are New or Returning visitors.

Selecting a filter (e.g., clicking on "Search" under Traffic Sources) will update the values across the screen. You will see the number of live users and articles based on that filter, along with their associated numbers for all the filters.

Category, Page Type, and Author Filters

These dropdown filters let you refine the dashboard view further:

  • Category: View data specific to a selected category (e.g., Sports, Technology, etc.).

  • Page Type: Filter by page type, such as Blog, Article, or Landing Page.

  • Author: Filter articles or pages written by a specific writer.

Adjusting these filters tailors the dashboard to display real-time traffic data for the selected category, page type, or author.

If your metadata is not set up to capture Category and Page Type data, you will not be able to use this filter. To set this up, check our help docs on setting up custom metadata.
